Hiroko Moriguchi’s “ETERNAL WIND” is the theme song of Gundam F91; TM NETWORK’s “BEYOND THE TIME” is the theme of Char’s Counterattack. This guide also includes F91’s image song, “Kimi wo Mitsumete,” with official videos and audio releases you can use to find each track.
These are film themes, so this OP/ED collection does not invent first- and second-season opening slots for them. The videos also include later self-covers. The label directly above each player identifies the recording rather than treating every performance as the film-era original.
F91 and Char’s Counterattack: song list
| Film | Song | Artist | Role |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gundam F91 | ETERNAL WIND ~ほほえみは光る風の中~ | Hiroko Moriguchi | Theme song |
| Gundam F91 | 君を見つめて -The time I’m seeing you- | Hiroko Moriguchi | Image song |
| Char’s Counterattack | BEYOND THE TIME ~メビウスの宇宙を越えて~ | TM NETWORK | Theme song |
“Kimi wo Mitsumete” is listed as F91’s image song, separately from its theme, “ETERNAL WIND.” That distinction follows Bandai Namco’s song listing. Calling it simply “the F91 opening” can hide what a listener is actually looking for.
ETERNAL WIND — Hiroko Moriguchi, official orchestral MV
Recording shown: the 2025 orchestral version. This is not the original 1991 recording. Moriguchi’s official channel presents a new arrangement with an orchestra.
It offers a way to revisit a familiar film theme through a different ensemble and a later performance. If you want the original recording, check version labels on the release rather than relying on the song title alone. King Records introduces the orchestral MV; its GUNDAM SINGLES HISTORY-2 catalogue also lists the F91 songs on a compilation.
Kimi wo Mitsumete — official MV with Masato Honda
Recording shown: the 2020 GUNDAM SONG COVERS 2 version. This is Moriguchi’s self-cover with Masato Honda, rather than a claim that the video reproduces the film’s original soundtrack recording.
Choose the release according to what you want: an original-era collection, or a performance video with a later arrangement. Moriguchi’s official video introduction describes this collaboration and the connection across recordings.
BEYOND THE TIME — TM NETWORK, official live video
Performance shown: TM NETWORK CONCERT -Incubation Period-. This is an official TM NETWORK concert video, not the original film-era studio recording.
The concert’s track list is available on Avex’s official release page. This performance offers a different setting from the film’s studio recording. For the separately labelled 2025 Version, see Sony Music’s official announcement. Similar titles do not mean every recording is interchangeable.
A simple listening route
Start with “ETERNAL WIND” when you want to return to F91, then hear “Kimi wo Mitsumete” as another musical connection to that film. After Char’s Counterattack, revisit “BEYOND THE TIME” through this live performance, then compare it with a film-era studio release if you want to hear the difference.
Knowing which film a song belongs to, and whether it is a theme or an image song, is more useful than a playlist that labels everything only “Gundam music.” Use the links beneath the players to return to the official performances you enjoy.
Questions about the versions
Is “Kimi wo Mitsumete” F91’s ending theme?
This guide follows the official listing: it is an image song. “ETERNAL WIND” is the film’s theme song.
Is the ETERNAL WIND video the 1991 recording?
No. The featured official MV uses the 2025 orchestral version, with the original singer in a later arrangement.
