“Sieg Zeon” is a rallying cry praising Zeon in Mobile Suit Gundam. It is used by soldiers and civilians as well as Gihren Zabi; it is not his private catchphrase. A representative scene is Garma’s state funeral in television episode 12, where Gihren’s speech turns mourning into a display of national unity.
- Series and speakers
- Mobile Suit Gundam, the original television series; Gihren and other people of Zeon.
- Representative episode
- Episode 12, “The Threat of Zeon,” at Garma’s state funeral.
- Basic meaning
- A cry along the lines of “Victory to Zeon” or “Hail Zeon.”
What does “Sieg Zeon” mean?
The German noun Sieg means victory. In the fictional setting, the combined cry expresses allegiance to Zeon and the wish for its victory. It does not address a person named Sieg. A Japanese National Diet Library reference case discusses the wording.
The word’s linguistic background does not by itself prove a particular production intention. Within the story, the important point is how a public ritual redirects grief towards the war effort. The crowd’s response makes the slogan more than an isolated quotation.

The funeral speech is not Gihren’s episode 42 speech
The funeral is a political transformation of a personal loss: Garma’s death becomes a reason to demand renewed commitment. The brief chant carries the force of many voices answering together. That context explains its prominence without treating the speech as an endorsement of Gihren’s politics.
The later “I dare say they are scum” speech belongs to television episode 42. Do not combine the two speeches into one episode. For the loss behind the funeral, see Garma’s “You tricked me, Char!”.
Sieg Zeon, SIEG ZION and the SD title
Sieg Zeon is the useful English search spelling for the fictional slogan. Licensed merchandise also uses the printed design SIEG ZION. A product’s actual lettering should be reported as it appears, rather than silently corrected to match the article’s spelling.
“SD Gundam Gaiden: Sieg Zeon” is a different search destination involving Knight Gundam’s fantasy setting. The official game title entry helps distinguish it from the original television funeral scene.
Merchandise: printed slogan versus related Zeon designs
Choose the jacket for the wording itself or a small accessory for an understated faction motif. The catalogue also identifies unavailable designs as references. A Zeon emblem alone does not make an item a printed-quote product.

Quick answers
Was Gihren the only person who said it?
No. It is a collective slogan. Episode 12 is the representative scene discussed here, not a claim to have established its first use across every Gundam production.
Is it the title GQuuuuuuX?
No. GQuuuuuuX is a series title. Add Gihren, meaning or episode 12 when searching for this particular slogan.
