Action Base 7 and 8 solve different display needs. Start with the model’s scale, weight and designated connector—not the larger number on the box. A stand is useful only when it supports the kit safely in the pose you want.
Action Base 7 vs 8: the basic differences
| Item | Action Base 7 | Action Base 8 |
|---|---|---|
| Primary scale | 1/144 | 1/100 |
| Configuration | Two sets | One set |
| Manufacturer price incl. tax | ¥880 | ¥770 |
The scale labels are starting points, not a guarantee of compatibility with every model. Large wings, weapons and shifted centers of gravity can change the load even within one scale.
Choose 7 for a pair of smaller displays
The official package provides two display sets for 1/144 models. It is worth considering when displaying two compatible smaller kits together. Check the usable connector and clearance beneath each model before planning a paired scene.
Choose 8 when a larger support is appropriate
Action Base 8 targets 1/100 models and uses bolt-and-nut locking joints, with wrench parts supplied. This is a different support arrangement, rather than a simple replacement for two smaller stands. Follow the included instructions; do not assume that tightening harder makes an incompatible connection safe.
Check these points before ordering
First, read the kit’s stand instructions and any dedicated-adapter requirement. Second, measure the space with the wings and weapons extended. Third, compare the delivered total, including shipping: a cheap stand can cost more once postage is added. Choose one product that fits the job; buying both is unnecessary unless you have different display needs.
