Gaia says “He used me as a stepping stone?!” in episode 24 of the original Mobile Suit Gundam TV series, 迫撃!トリプル・ドム. Amuro performs the move; Gaia is the pilot startled by what has happened to his Dom.

Bandai’s licensed merchandise announcement identifies the line and TV episode. This guide discusses the encounter.
What exactly becomes the stepping stone?
The Gundam steps on Gaia’s mobile suit, not his unprotected body. “Me” expresses the pilot’s reaction to his machine being used in a way he never intended. That distinction resolves a common confusion when the sentence is encountered without the action around it.
The reversal is the important part: the advancing Dom is supposed to pressure the Gundam, yet its position becomes useful to Amuro. Instead of simply blocking the attack, the Gundam turns an opponent’s approach into a means of moving past him.
Why the Jet Stream Attack matters
The Black Tri-Stars are Gaia, Ortega and Mash. Their coordinated attack creates successive threats, so avoiding one machine does not necessarily end the danger. The tactic’s identity comes from that pressure and follow-up, rather than merely from having three mobile suits on screen.
The original diagram below simplifies the idea. It is not a reproduction of film frames, exact spacing, firing angles or every movement in the sequence. Watch the scene continuously to study its choreography.

Keep the speaker, the episode and other events separate
Matilda and the Medea transport are also important to the episode, but this quotation belongs to Gaia. Nor should episode 24 be described as completing every part of the Black Tri-Stars’ story.
The number 24 belongs to the television series. It should not be attached to a compilation movie as though the movie had a television episode number. For a first viewing, searching the original TV series and episode number is the clearest route.
English wording and meme use
“He used me as a stepping stone?!” is this article’s explanatory translation. Official merchandise has also used “HE USED ME AS A SPRINGBOARD?!” English wording can therefore differ by product or release; this heading is not a claim about every official subtitle track.
The scene lends itself to jokes about an opponent unexpectedly benefiting from one’s own actions. Outside the story, however, calling someone a stepping stone can imply exploitation. It is a stronger image than ordinary cooperation or encouragement.
Quote merchandise versus a related Dom kit
Licensed products bearing the sentence were announced in 2023, including apparel and household items. That historical reservation period is over. Their existence should not be confused with current retail availability.
The model below is related merchandise representing Gaia’s mobile suit, not an item printed with the quotation.
HGUC 059 is a Dom/Rick Dom selection kit. For the ground-combat scene, choose the Dom build. The two names on the box do not mean that it contains two complete machines, and it is not a three-Dom set. It is an assembly kit rather than a finished figure.
Two quick answers
Is this an Amuro quotation?
No. Amuro’s Gundam makes the move; Gaia reacts to being used as the foothold.
Can I balance one model directly on another?
Avoid an unstable stack. Use a support compatible with the model and follow its instructions instead of placing the weight of one kit on another.
